SUBMIT YOUR REQUEST TO THE STATE OF MAINE FOR BACKCOUNTRY SKIING ON PUBLIC LANDS

TAKE ACTION! The public lands of Western Maine have been a longtime resource for recreation and we want to add backcountry skiing to that list. In a recent article in the Portland Press Herald, Rex Turner, Outdoor Recreation Planner for Maine's Bureau of Public Lands, indicated that the State has not developed human-powered backcountry skiing terrain within parts of Maine's 600,000 acres of public lands because there is "no huge demand for it".

NOW IS THE TIME TO LET MR. TURNER RESPECTFULLY KNOW YOU WANT MORE SKIING IN THE BACKYARD! #GIMBY

We urge you take 1 minute of your time by sharing your MAINE backcountry stoke and interest in new glades by submitting an email to Mr. Turner by following our SIMPLE process.

Maine Resident: Consider personalizing the email and let Mr. Turner know why you love backcountry skiing, why it keeps you here in the State, and why the State should support it.

Non-Resident: Let Mr. Turner know that backcountry skiing as an outdoor amenity will attract you to visit the State to recreate and draw personal connections to its natural resources.

THIS IS ADVOCACY - LET YOUR VOICE BE HEARD!
