Cooley-Jericho Project. The 840 acre Cooley-Jericho Community Forest (CJCF) is a unique project as the interests of four towns (Franconia, Sugar Hill, Easton, and Landaff) are wrapped into the community forest with fee ownership held by Ammonoosuc Conservation Trust, a local conservation leader. CJCF has existing trails for recreationalists (hikers, bikers) and now is interested in glade skiing.  The parcel contains three peaks which all contain potentially skiable terrain ranging from the steep to the mellow. Recent logging makes certain areas thick with underbrush but other areas are less prone to such regrowth.  The property abuts the White Mountain National Forest and creates a special opportunity to work with a variety of towns and leaders which will hopefully lead to not only a successful project, but other projects in this side of the state as well.

Project Glade Proposal: GBA and certain members of the CJCF management team met on May 18, 2017 to discuss a partnership to introduce glade skiing to the community forest.  The parties agreed to move forward authorizing GBA's Glade Designer Sustainable Trailworks, LLC to perform a site assessment glade review. Site assessment occurred on July 28, 2017. The parties agreed to monitor the proposed cutting areas over the following winter. The next meeting will be on January 30, 2019 to discuss plans forward.
