WELCOME TO GRANITELAND
THE WAY SKIING SHOULD BE
The goal of Granite Backcountry Alliance is to advance the sport of backcountry skiing in New Hampshire and Western Maine by providing a network of low-impact human-powered backcountry skiing opportunities to the public through the creation, improvement and maintenance of ski glades.

DONATIONS MAKE THE WORLD GO ‘ROUND!
Why are there so many non-profits around? Because funding sources from a municipal, state or federal are more rare than a powder day followed by sustained cold temps to keep things fresh. Non-profits fill the gap that government can’t (or won’t) fund! So, a few dollars can go a long way and will help us with signage, snowplowing, bathrooms, and other expenses, so you and your buds can ski the glades. Try it, it just might feel good!

“The key piece to our strategy is to focus not just on the WMNF, but also develop complementary glade options in contiguous areas including state, municipal and third party properties. The underlying rationale is we are digging after something deeper – such as building communities around outdoor winter recreation.”
GLADE ZONE OUTDOOR ECONOMY: DOING OUR PART
Glade use data is acquired thanks to trail counters. This data is critical to helping us manage Graniteland, and understand our contribution to not only communities, but the outdoor economy at large!
