Types of Glade Days

GBA Glade Days

For the big jobs. These are the Glade Days we've all come to know and love. Large scale projects with a ton of amazing volunteers - afterwards, you know we'll have the après dialed. Cutting in a new glade zone? Existing glade requires serious maintenance/improvements? Grab a hard hat and some loppers, it's time for a GBA Glade Day.

Community Cuts

If you know anything about GBA, you know we're all about community. Community Cuts embody that spirit. These days are led by the glade's respective Glade Chief. At these days you'll find smaller groups tackling more specific maintenance tasks, with volunteers from both near and far! These days are critical to keeping our glades in tip top shape for when the snow flys!

Locals List

Do you live local to a zone? Have a favorite spot that you want to get more involved with? Join the locals list for that glade! The locals list is a group of superheroes, ready to spring into action when help is need. Downed tree blocking the skin track? Bridge needed over a water crossing? Time to mobilize the locals list!

How to Get Involved!

Pack Leaders

Way back when, we had a lightbulb moment (solar-powered, of course). We realized we needed a “middle-management” volunteer contingent to get the job done, which means we needed extra hands in the right places to make the magic happen in the field (read: we couldn’t do it alone). Since then, we’ve had an amazing run of great “Packies” that really give it their all. Some have no prior glading experience - some don’t even ski! That’s a testament to the power of being involved in something that’s fun. And what’s better than being in the woods all day, giving some pointers to the uninitiated, and then drinking beers and crushing burgers afterward? We thought you’d understand.

Quarry Dogs

We wouldn't be able to do what we do without the support from volunteers, the Quarry Dogs. These individuals recognize that as a backcountry skier there is a duty, an obligation, to contribute your time back into the terrain. What that time should be varies for everyone, but it is a worthwhile mentality that we try to instill in volunteers as none of this happens without our critical mass of superior volunteers!
